Location and setting
Next Paradise Boutique Resort is positioned at Pwani Mchangani on Zanzibar's northeast coast, a stretch of shoreline that sits between the busier resort concentrations at Kiwengwa to the south and the dive-focused village of Matemwe to the north. The area is quieter and more low-key than either neighbour, and the property reflects that character: the grounds are small, the atmosphere is unhurried, and the setting is defined more by a tropical garden than by resort infrastructure.
The beach in front of the property faces east across the Indian Ocean and is typical of the northeast coast — white sand, a shallow reef flat exposed at low tide, and warm, clear water at high tide. The reef provides some natural shelter and creates the vivid turquoise palette associated with Zanzibar's sheltered east-facing bays.
Accommodation and grounds
Next Paradise is built around garden bungalows set among mature tropical vegetation. The bungalows are individual structures rather than resort blocks, which gives the property a scattered, organic feel rather than the formal layout of a larger hotel. The number of rooms is small by design, keeping the guest count low and the atmosphere intimate throughout.
Common areas are simple and functional — a main dining area, a bar, and direct beach access — without the multiple pools, entertainment stages, and buffet restaurants of larger all-inclusive properties.
Activities and surroundings
The northeast coast provides good access to reef snorkelling and, from Matemwe a short drive north, some of Zanzibar's most highly regarded scuba diving. Mnemba Atoll, a small marine conservation area offshore from Matemwe, is a recognised site for snorkelling and diving and is accessible by boat from this section of the coast.
The village of Pwani Mchangani itself has a small local market and some basic services. For more variety in restaurants and shopping, Nungwi and Stone Town are reachable by road.
Who it suits
Next Paradise suits independent travellers and couples who want a genuinely small-scale, laid-back property rather than a resort experience. The bungalow format and garden setting will appeal to those who prefer natural surroundings to polished resort landscaping, and the relaxed pace suits guests who treat the beach and reef as the main event rather than hotel amenities.
